Anxiety Therapy

What Anxiety is like…

Many struggling with anxiety experience restlessness, exhaustion, and mental fog, which can make it difficult to engage with the world around them. You may also feel disconnected from your body or surroundings, and find that even simple tasks require a lot of effort. It's common to lose interest in activities and socializing when dealing with these symptoms, which can lead to isolation and feelings of loneliness. You may be finding yourself desperately wishing you could turn your brain off and just relax for a bit. If you're experiencing these challenges, you may benefit from anxiety therapy to seek support and strategies to help you manage your symptoms and improve your quality of life.

You’re not the only one…

Approximately 6.4% of the population experience symptoms that meet the diagnostic criteria for Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD). This equates to around 22 million individuals who may receive a GAD diagnosis at some point in their lifetime. However, this figure does not include those who do not seek professional help for their symptoms and may suffer in silence without receiving a formal diagnosis.

The Impact…

Anxiety is a natural response to stress, but our bodies also require time to recover and feel safe and connected. If left unchecked, anxiety can compromise the immune system, making individuals more susceptible to colds and flu. Additionally, anxiety often contributes to gastrointestinal issues, such as irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), and exacerbates sleep problems and physical symptoms like headaches, palpitations, and sweaty palms.

Living with chronic anxiety can lead to social isolation, as individuals may feel distant from their friends and family and struggle with making decisions or doubting themselves. These symptoms can be frustrating and may leave one feeling unheard and misunderstood. However, it's important not to let the isolation become worse.

If you're struggling with anxiety, don't hesitate to reach out for help. We can assist you in finding the freedom to enjoy life without excessive stress and worry.

Worry vs anxiety…

Although everyone experiences worries and stressors, it's important to recognize when anxiety begins to interfere with daily life. If you find yourself struggling with procrastination, self-doubt, and lack of confidence, your anxiety may be preventing you from taking the necessary steps to achieve your goals.

If you've been dealing with anxiety for an extended period and it has affected your quality of life, don't hesitate to seek help. Many individuals have tried to manage their anxiety on their own and have been unsuccessful. However, working with a therapist can help you learn valuable skills to confront your fears and rebuild a fulfilling life.

As a therapist, I've supported countless clients who have felt weighed down by anxiety, self-doubt, and past failures. It takes courage to seek help, and I am here to help you overcome your anxiety and create a life worth living.

The Benefits of anxiety Therapy

Anxiety can take a toll on both your mental and physical health, which is why it's essential to prioritize your well-being. Therapy can be a valuable tool in reducing chronic stress and preventing long-term health issues.

By working with a therapist, you can regain a sense of control in your life and learn effective coping strategies to manage your anxiety. Additionally, therapy can help you identify and address any underlying issues that may be contributing to your anxiety.

Investing in therapy now can save you money in the long run by preventing or reversing health problems that may have developed due to chronic stress. As your therapist I will work to create a safe, judgement free environment rich in understanding and support as we work towards your goals at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

What to Expect From Anxiety Therapy…

Our initial sessions we will begin by asking a series of questions to help me get to know you better as an individual and understand your personal background. This will help us to identify and prioritize your most pressing goals, and determine what you want to work on first.

We will then personalize your treatment plan to best suit your unique needs. You can expect to leave your therapy sessions with practical and proven skills to help manage and reduce your anxiety intensity and frequency.

Is Anxiety Therapy worth it?

Through these experiences, I've witnessed the transformative power of a bit of extra guidance in breaking free from anxious thought patterns and stepping confidently into a life filled with joy and newfound freedom.

Possible concerns about Anxiety Therapy:

Is Anxiety Therapy Worth the Investment?

If you could have conquered anxiety on your own, you would have already. Seeking professional help from someone with a proven track record in assisting individuals with anxiety is a valuable investment in your well-being.

Does Online Therapy Work/Is It as Effective?

I've found both online and in-person therapy to be highly effective. Some individuals actually prefer online therapy as it allows them greater control over their environment, promoting a sense of calm. All therapy treatments mentioned can be successful whether conducted online or in-person.

Is Online Therapy Private? How Does It Work?

Privacy is paramount. Ensure you're in a private space where interruptions are unlikely. Communicate your need for privacy to those sharing the space and consider having entertainment in another room or using headphones. Keep tissues, a drink, and silence notifications to create a comfortable environment.
