Trauma Therapy

Are You Still Carrying the Weight of the Past?

Do you feel stuck in patterns you don’t fully understand—but can’t seem to escape?
Do certain memories, places, or situations trigger overwhelming emotions or anxiety?
Are you tired of “just getting through the day” and ready to truly heal?

Trauma can linger long after the event is over. It can impact your relationships, your sense of safety, your ability to trust, and even your connection to your own body. You may look “fine” on the outside, while inside you feel numb, overwhelmed, or on edge—sometimes all at once.

Trauma therapy offers a path to healing that’s safe, supported, and led by you.

What Is Trauma?

Trauma isn’t just about what happened—it’s about how your mind and body experienced what happened. Whether it was a single event, a series of painful experiences, or something that happened over time, trauma can leave a lasting imprint on your nervous system.

You may be dealing with trauma if you experience:

  • Flashbacks, intrusive thoughts, or nightmares

  • Anxiety, panic, or a constant sense of vigilance

  • Emotional numbness or difficulty feeling joy

  • Chronic shame, guilt, or self-blame

  • Difficulty trusting others or maintaining healthy relationships

  • Feeling stuck in fight, flight, freeze, or fawn responses

Even if your trauma isn’t “big” by textbook definitions, its impact is real. You don’t have to prove your pain to deserve support.

A Safe, Holistic Approach to Trauma Healing

Trauma recovery is not about rehashing every painful memory—it’s about helping your body and mind come back into safety and wholeness. My approach is gentle, trauma-informed, and rooted in both science and compassion.

My approach to trauma therapy includes:

  • Rewire the Body’s Trauma Response

Trauma lives in the nervous system. You may know you’re safe now, but your body doesn’t always feel that way. Using somatic and neurobiological tools, we’ll help regulate your nervous system and shift you out of survival mode.

  • Process Painful Memories at Your Pace

We’ll use trauma-resolution methods like Internal Family Systems (IFS) or Post Induction Therapy (PIT) to safely process traumatic experiences.

  • Understand and Heal Trauma Patterns

Trauma often shapes how we relate to ourselves and others. We’ll explore how trauma has impacted your beliefs, boundaries, identity, and relationships—and begin creating new, healthier patterns.

  • Restore Connection to Self

Trauma can leave you feeling fragmented or disconnected from your body, emotions, or sense of purpose. Through grounding, mindfulness, and emotional support, you’ll begin reconnecting with the parts of you that have been hidden or silenced.

What You Can Expect in Trauma Therapy

Healing from trauma takes courage—but you don’t have to do it alone. Therapy provides a steady, compassionate space to explore what hurts and to begin creating something new.

In our work together, you can expect to:

  • Feel supported, not rushed or pressured

  • Understand how trauma affects your brain, body, and relationships

  • Learn tools to manage triggers, flashbacks, and overwhelm

  • Begin to release shame and self-blame

  • Reclaim your voice, boundaries, and sense of safety

  • Experience moments of peace, strength, and relief again

Healing doesn’t mean forgetting—it means remembering in a way that no longer controls you.

Common Questions About Trauma Therapy

  • What if I’m not ready to talk about everything?

That’s completely okay. You’ll never be pressured to share more than you’re comfortable with. Therapy is a collaborative process, and you set the pace. Your safety, comfort, and sense of control are always the priority.

  • What if my trauma happened a long time ago?

It’s never too late to heal. Many people carry unresolved trauma for decades before seeking help. The brain and body are remarkably capable of transformation—no matter how much time has passed.

  • Can trauma therapy make things worse before they get better?

It’s normal to feel a little raw or vulnerable as you begin this work, but therapy should never leave you feeling overwhelmed or unsafe. My approach emphasizes pacing, consent, and nervous system support—so you stay grounded and in charge throughout the process.

You are not broken. You are not too much. You are not beyond repair.
You are a human being who survived something hard—and you deserve healing.
